WARHAMMER 40,000 - Undead Army List by Pete Adamson

Special Rules for the Undead Army
  • Blood Lust The vampire could have 'blood lust'. To see if the vampire falls for the 'Blood Lust' at the start of the turn roll a D6 on a 6 it charges 2D6"(3D6" if with jump pack) towards the nearest human opponent instead of moving. If it passes it moves normally. In close combat test for the 'blood lust' if it rolls a 6 on a D6 or fell in the movement phase it gains D3 attacks.
  • Transmorphic The vampire can morph in a bat. This gives the vampire the abilities of a jump pack

Wargear

  • The Undead army have access to Imperium, power fists; chainfists, thunder hammers and power weapons are limited to the Independent Characters.
  • Plasma weapons are in extremely short numbers, thus they may only be given to elites and independent characters and bodyguard.
  • Instead of chainfists (which are Terminator only) they may have an Eviscerator. This is a huge double-handed chainsword, but acts as a chainfist (although it can’t get an extra attack, it’s double handed).
  • Vampire fangs may NOT be master-crafted.

Undead wargear

  • Independent Characters also have access to ‘custom’ bolt weapons. Bolt pistols can be upgraded for +2pts, bolters (inc combi) can be upgraded for +4 pts and storm bolters may be up-graded for + 7pts. Custom bolter weapons have the modified strength 5 and AP 4, other than that they are the same.
  • When rolling to hit with vampire fangs on a roll of a 6 the enemy model is instantly wounded, invulnerable saves are allowed. This has no effect against vehicles.

Some sample background information
They can be former Space Marines who during a mission on a chaos planet came across a Chaos Temple. Two squads of 10 scouts decided to raid and search the temple for ancient artefacts for the Techmarines to look at and investigate. These marines never made it out of the temple alive. For during the raid one scout found a blue gem 2 ft by 1ft. Not sure what to make of this the scout went to pick it up. All his life essence was sucked out of him. All that kept him alive was chaos magic within the gem. His death then urged him to get his comrades to investigate and touch the stone. When all 20 scouts were finally made undead they shattered the stone into pieces so they all could take shards to infect other life forms. The scouts seniors knew they went into the temple and had not been hear of since. They went to investigate the disappearance. To there disbelief they discovered the few remaining shards of the legendary stone of Yak'ilker, a stone said to give those who have touched it immortality, but at the cost of their soul. By the time the marines knew what had happened the scouts had stowed away on rogue Chaos transport ships to unknown destinations.

Centuries later unregistered imperial spacecraft were detected on the fringes of the Tha'uki sector. These craft belonged to Lord Gretnor of the Undead. During the centuries since the scouts’ disappearance they had been converting life forms across the universe into their undead hordes. Gretnor was the only surviving scout from the original 20. The stone of Yak'ilker had warped his mind, bent on destruction of the Imperium, but with a sworn hatred for what chaos had done to him. He sat there on the bridge of his Battle Cruiser. "Launch the Teleporter Pods," Gretnor barked at his crew. His rebellion against the Imperium was about to start...
